What are your overall thoughts about your course?

I think the MSc Computing course is really well put together, it's actually a conversion course for students with degrees in other disciplines, you aren't expected to have any prior computing experience, you just have to be able to study hard at MSc level. I actually came here after doing a degree in History and Politics! The course starts off with reasonably basic material and quickly moves on to a more advanced level. The level of teaching is very good and the staff are very friendly and approachable. If we had any problems the staff were always quite happy to help and offer advice. That's important, especially as most of the students on the course hadn't really done any computing before, so the staff had to be really patient with us – which they were!

What's been your favourite module?

My favourite module was AI for games; the AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, the module is run by Professor Peter Cowilng and is a very interesting module in which we developed our own AI agents. Professor Cowling has developed a series of AI games which you can write your own agents for, your agent then goes into the game and you find out how fares against the competition! The module is very hands on and you get lots of experience with coding which is what I particularly enjoyed.

What did you do for your final MSc project?

I've actually been really fortunate and I'm going to Paris to work for a company on my final MSc project. I'm going to be developing a graphical interface for them – I feel very privileged that they've allowed me to go and work for them.

What do you do in your spare time?

As an MSc student, you don't tend to get a great deal of spare time! Fortunately the Courtyard Pub/bar on campus has recently been refurbished, so that's a good place to meet up for a coffee and discuss how things are going. There's pool tables and even a Playstation 2 if you can get near it! It's a great place to hang out.

What do you think of Bradford?

Bradford is in the process of undergoing a major re-development, I first came to Bradford in 1997 when everything was still very 60's looking and a bit gloomy to be honest. But now there's been massive changes, the west-end area is full of bars and restaurants, and the lower end of the city, Broadway I think, is currently undergoing a total rebuild!
