COURSE INTRODUCTION

Computers are now an integral part of modern life with continuous improvements in hardware and software technology. Education at all levels, general industry, service industries, healthcare providers, and home users of the technology are becoming more dependent on the newly developed facilities supporting greater access to knowledge, exchange of information, final output and output management. Systems security and hacking techniques are getting smarter and involving higher level of skills and imagination to devise or counter these respectively. All of this has led to a demand for computer system specialists who are fully conversant with the needs of all participants and who are capable of creating, and controlling, the networking systems. This course offers you the opportunity to become one of these specialists.

This is one of the few available degree courses dedicated to addressing Systems Administration skills. By utilising expertise from various departments within the University of Bradford, and industry, this course will allow you to explore every aspect of the system admin process from operating systems to the administration of wide and complicated networks of computers. With dedicated facilities and teaching resources, we believe this course will allow you a truly unique experience that will equip you for a career in System Administration.

It is possible to do the course either as a three-year course, or as a four-year sandwich course which includes an industry placement.
