COURSE STRUCTURE

Our Foundation Year in Informatics aims to help students develop sufficient technical knowledge, intellectual understanding and professional and interpersonal skills to enable them to undertake further undergraduate study. On successful completion of the Foundation Year, students will be able to show:

  • Sound initial knowledge of information technologies and computing techniques.

  • Familiarity with and confident use of hardware platforms and common software tools.

  • Understanding of abstract concepts from elementary mathematics and fluency with basic numerical techniques and algebraic manipulation.

  • The ability to undertake basic software design.
