COURSE STRUCTURE

The first year of the multimedia Computing Degree is common with the Computer Science Degree. In the second and third years, specialist multimedia modules from the Department of Computing and the Department of Electronic Imaging and Media Communications (EIMC) are studied. These specialist modules help to provide multimedia design and development skills. The overall study pattern enables students to develop relevant knowledge and understanding of key computer science areas, as well as offering the opportunity to develop practical abilities within the context of project work.

In the final stage students undertake a core module of Graphics and Image Processing alongside a major individual project within Multimedia Computing, as well as other core EIMC modules in Multimedia User Interfaces and Interactive Systems and Video Games Design. Flexibility of choice is further enhanced by a number of optional modules in the final stage.
