COURSE INTRODUCTION

BSc Robotics with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the study of computers behaving like humans. It will enable you to gain a physical connection to this behaviour, allowing you to build robotic structures that can use all human senses including touch and sound.

If you are good with computers, have an interest in how things work, especially in artificial intelligence, and want to lead in the next technological revolution, then this is the course for you!

The world of robotics is changing at a rapid pace. What we once thought as fanciful or science fiction is now becoming reality. We are now starting to see semi-intelligent robots appear as departmental store guides; servitor robots are now available to guard your home or complete simple tasks. Building upon the experience of robotic structures within the department this new development gives you the opportunity to join in the development of the next generation of robots.

Within the course you will gain knowledge and experience in the design of robotic structures, their sensory capability, and their programming within an artificial intelligence environment which will enable you to contribute at a high level in such project constructs.

It is possible to do the course either as a three-year course, or as a four-year sandwich course which includes an industry placement.
