We use Windows XP professional.FACILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computing offers a wide variety of up-to-date computing laboratories, hardware and software. Our computers are equipped with all of the modern software you will require for your course. Operating systems include Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Linux and UNIX, so you will have the opportunity to become familiar with many operating systems used in industry.
Redhat Linux log in.NETWORKS
The Department has its own network, in conjunction with The School of Informatics, based on powerful SUN/Linux servers accessed by clusters of PC workstations. The network can be accessed from the campus network and beyond.

We are currently in the process of adding 'wireless hotspots' so you will be able to connect to the School of Informatics network using your 'wi-fi' enabled laptop.
