Our mature students come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring with them a wealth of life and work experiences and a committed and enthusiastic approach to their studies. The skills they have gained from their experiences enhance the learning experience of all students here at Bradford.
There are many advantages to learning later in life and our curriculum and support structures are designed to maximise this impact. For instance, mature learners bring with them:
- Life skills and experiences
- Strong commitment to learning
- An organised approach
- Maturity in discussion and debate
- A willingness to question
For many adults who have been outside the education system for a number of years, there are often worries:
- Can I really do a degree?
- Will I get in?
- Will I fail?
- Can I afford it?
- Will I fit in?
Entry requirements for our courses are listed on the various course pages on this web site, however, if you don't meet the usual entry requirements but have work experience in a relevant area to the course in which you are interested; please don't be put off from applying. We are often able to offer mature students a place on the course based on their work experience.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us using the details in our contacts section.
